The Lessay Fair is a true institution in Normandy, offering a unique blend of tradition and festivity. Whether you’re interested in agriculture, commerce or simply a unique cultural experience, the Lessay Fair is an event not to be missed during your vacation in the Manche region at Les Mouettes campsite.

Known as the“Foire Sainte-Croix“, it’s one of the oldest and most important fairs in France. As its name suggests, it is held every year in Lessay, a commune in the Manche département of Normandy , 25 minutes from Les Mouettes campsite on the tourist route linking Granville and Cherbourg.

The Lessay Fair dates back to the 11th century, when it was founded by the monks of the Benedictine abbey of Lessay. Historically, the fair was a major trading venue for livestock, agricultural products and handicrafts. Today, it retains this tradition, remaining a key event for farmers and craftsmen, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the Normandy region and beyond.

The Lessay Fair is held every year on the second weekend of September. It runs from Friday to Sunday, over 3 days, from September 06 to 08, 2024.
